The company was launched in the year 2015 having its headquarters in Delhi. It has become famous within millennials because of their bold identity and a strong draft network. In the year 2018, brand entered into Singapore with a goal to expand into Asia Pacific. Within 3 years, it became one of the fastest growing beer brands in India. The company is operating two breweries in India and is having offices in around nine cities.

Bira91 competes against the likes of Kingfisher, Carlsberg, Heineken and others.

Financials of company

Though there has been a constant and a huge rise in the revenues for the company from the year 2016 to the year 2020, still the company is constantly facing losses for the year 2016 and the losses have been increasing this can be attributed to huge expenses the company is making. However, Earnings per share have been increasing since 2016, though there was a dip from 2018 to 2019 but again in 2020 a rise was seen, but it is to be observed that earnings per share are also lying in the negative region.

In FY 2019-20 the company has a turnover of Rs. 457 Crs compared to Rs. 350 Crs in 2018-19.

The company losses has increased due to Increased expenses and has an EBITDA of -150 Crs in 2019-20 compared to -110 Crs in 2018-19.

During the Last One Year, Bira continued to grow consumer loyalty and maintainedits position in the premium beer market going on to set up India’s largest dispense beer network in restaurants and bars across the country and internationally lead by world class management team with strong industry experience with background in consumer goods, spirits, beer, and manufacturing. The Company during the year has conducted various national and international events including April Fools’ Fest, ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Indian Pale Ale brewed with Pomelo Launch, Malabar Stout Launch, International Curry Week, Horn OKPlease, Palate Festival & LBB bazaar, India Cocktail Week, U2 Concert, Mumbai, Goa Sunsplash X BSL,Tata Mumbai Marathon x Light, Indis Art Fair,LR Taproom Launch, Bengaluru, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, Australia.

The Company expands its sales operations and makes its presence felt in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Telangana, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Kerala, Jharkhand, Daman and Silvassa in 2019-20 and planning to add few more in coming years.

During the year, with a view to expand the business and Operations globally, the Company has enhance edits investment into the Equity Share Capital of B9 Beverages PTE LTD, in Singapore, B9 Beverages INC;USA.

Funds Raised

The Company has raised an amount of around INR. 178 Crores from new and existing investors by issuing them Pre-Series C CCCPS of the face value of Rs. 15/- each during the year 2019-20.Further, the Company has also raised amount of INR 55 Crore from its existing Investors by issuing them Pre-Series C1 CCCPS (SCI Investments V and Advent Management Belgium S.A.).
